Testimonials and reviews

Working long distance Dallas to the northwest, we sent Emily photos, roof color and a trim color we had already committed to using. After some consideration she sent back alternate color schemes with a preference. Her preference was a home run, field color, accent color as well as her suggestion where to keep the horizontal off white banding As the designer of the house, our house, when my wife suggest it, I paused at the first suggestion of a color expert getting involved, it was a great choice. Emily's ideas were reasoned, very pleasing and having her expert eyes taking a look at the project was both an inspiration and the assurance we were going making a great choice.

I've never worked with Emily before but I was in a house last weekend that she helped to pick colors for. I am helping to design a kitchen for this home. When I commented on how lovely the color combinations were the people who owned the house couldn't say enough good things about Emily. It has been a few years since they worked together but they were so impressed it sounded like it was just yesterday.. They went on and on about how much time she spent working with them to get just the perfect palette of color and finishes. It was an amazing place to see.

I had the pleasure of working with Emily during the planning stage of a major home renovation in 2012. Since we were knocking out walls I knew I needed paint colors that would flow well from one room to the next. Needless to say I was overwhelmed with choices. Fortunately, I found Color In Space on the internet and Emily spent time with me creating my own color palette. Within 6-months, not only was the renovation complete, but the main living areas in my home had all been repainted based on Emily's recommendations. We love it! Fast forward 2 years and I'm undertaking a complete half-bath renovation. I was so happy to just grab my palette with the color Emily had recommended for that bath; no decision making necessary for paint! Not only does the palette determine room color, but it is a guide for choosing architectural features as well. I feel so fortunate to have Emily's personal touch in my home as well as never having to struggle with paint color choices again.

We absolutely loved working with Emily! She helped us find the perfect colors for both the inside and outside of our home. The color pallete she curated not only suited our personal design styles, but also honored our home's 100-year-old craftsman style. I would have never anticipated that having a color consultant to guide us through the process would have made such a difference. Her sense of design, theories of how colors play off of one another, and ability to listen and synthesize our vision proved invaluable to the redesign of our home. We are frequently complimented by visitors on how well the colors flow and how the unique pops of color compliment the space. We cannot recommend her enough. Thank you Emily!

Very helpful in developing color scheme for whole house without needing to guess which paint colors complement each other. Found the right paint for every room from this collection.

The colors are just beautiful. Warm and rich in tone. Much nicer than the samples from stores.

We are in the process of building a new home. After wracking my brain with numerous trips to the paint store trying to select colors for our home that would all flow together, yet stand alone, I was beyond ecstatic to stumble across Color in Space online. I contacted Emily and explained the feel we were looking for. She suggested two of the color palettes that would work together very nicely. For $25. per 12 shade palette grouping ... I figured I'd give it a try, it's more reasonable than hiring a decorator ... which is the point I was at. WOW!!! This was the best $50. I've ever spent! We have found these palettes to be so invaluable in tying together all aspects of our home environment! Not just for paint, but to blend furniture and accessories as well. While we've been going through the building/shopping process, the palettes remain in my pocket book at all times, and I can't tell you how often I've whipped them out in a furniture store ... to the surprise, and compliments, of jaw dropping salespeople. It simply takes the guesswork out of knowing how well your home will blend together. I recommend these palettes whole heartedly! Thank you Emily!

I used Color in Space to help select the paint colours for our newly re-built family cottage. I was looking for a warm, rich palette that was both earthy and summery and that would flow together in the semi- open concept plan. I ordered two palettes, "cabin" and "bungalow" and they arrived within 3 days to Canada.

They were exactly what I needed, providing a range of complementary colours to select from; and after putting together a vignette of our flooring and other elements it was easy to identify the perfect colours - all from the "cabin" palette. I watched the colours evolve over the course of a few days and then gave our contractor the information.

The painting is now complete and the colour looks and feels exactly the way we had hoped, and is just beautiful. I also did a phone consultation with Emily which was extremely helpful as well, and I would highly recommend the service!

I think a lot of thought, technology and artistic know-how went into developing these palettes. I purchased Bungalow and Cabana for $25 a piece. I wish the Bungalow palette included one or two lighter colors as the palette is rather dark as a whole. Conversely, I wish the Cabana palette included a suggestion that would "pop" the pallet . Overall, however the palettes do offer a comprehensive "feel." They a certainly are a good starting place!
