All in a Day's Work

Emily had the opportunity to spend most of Saturday with Terry and Gail in their Queen Anne high-rise condo overlooking Puget Sound: an expansive and spectacular view of sky, water, and mountains in the background.

They have recently remodeled their kitchen and are ready to begin painting the whole place. Additionally, they wanted some help with their kitchen backsplash and carpet to be replaced throughout too. Using the Color in Space process made this job incredibly easy and efficient!

To begin building their palette, the new architectural finishes were key: walnut front door, cherry cabinets, granite countertops, green marble entryway, and hardwood floors in the kitchen. Terry is himself a woodworker and made an exquisite cherry dining room set, which was also considered in the palette-building phase. Lastly, the owners' art quickly conveyed the overall feel and spirit that they wanted to achieve in their home. Emily was off and running!

Using Benjamin Moore Paint colors, Emily assisted the homeowners in creating a very balanced palette of warm and cool colors. Most of the warm colors actually represent all of the wood present in the home, therefore, when it came to the paint, it was very clear to Emily that the cooler colors were going to feel best and be most appealing to the homeowners. Bringing the feel of the sky and water from the view into the home was the main objective. With how often Emily has performed color consultations in similar conditions, she knew from the outset what the main color would be on the ceiling and living room walls. However, she refuses to deviate from the Color in Space process and still went through the same process facilitating the palette-building as she always does. When all was done, indeed her prediction of the main color was the owners' decision! Benjamin Moore's Camouflage in the Preview Collection hits it every time!

After spending a few hours at the condo completing the color consultation, where now Terry & Gail have a detailed plan for where every paint color will go and even the Benjamin Moore Paint sheens to accompany them, Emily then accompanied them to Color in Space Team Members, Seattle Tile and Vogel's Carpet, to decide upon their backsplash and carpet. Because of having completed the color consultation and having the palette in hand, they were able to take care of both the backsplash and carpet in less than two hours! That includes travel time between the two places!

Without a doubt, the Color in Space process made the day fun, and Terry and Gail are thrilled with the results...all for less than $600! When they learned that they can also use Color in Space trade discounts with our Team Members, they were even more happy. Definitely working with Color in Space saves time, energy, stress, and MONEY!!!
